Tinubu Appoints New Federal Commissioners For FCC, NPC, RMAFC

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of federal commissioners to key national agencies, including the Federal Character Commission (FCC), National Population Commission (NPC), and Revenue Mobilization, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

In a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Hon. Kayode Oladele has been appointed Federal Commissioner for the FCC. At the same time, Mrs. Olukemi Victoria Iyantan will serve as Commissioner for the NPC. Additionally, 21 new and returning commissioners have been appointed to the RMAFC to represent various states.

Notable appointments to the RMAFC include Mrs Linda Nkechi Oti (Abia), Mr Akpan Imo Effiong (Akwa Ibom), and Prof. Steve Ugbah (Benue).

The list also includes key renewals, such as Chief Eyo Nsa Whiley (Cross River) and Alhaji Kabir Mohammed Mashi (Katsina), signalling a mix of fresh leadership and experienced hands.

The complete list of RMAFC appointees is as follows: Mrs. Linda Nkechi Oti-Abia (Fresh Appointment), Mr. Akpan Imo Effiong-Akwa Ibom (Fresh Appointment), Mr Enefe Ekene – Anambra (Fresh Appointment)

.Prof. Steve Ugbah – Benue (Fresh Appointment)Chief Eyo Nsa Whiley – Cross River (Renewal) and

Aruviere Egharhevwe – Delta (Fresh Appointment).

Others are Nduka Henry Awuregu – Ebonyi (Fresh Appointment)

Mr Victor Eboigbe – Edo (Renewal), Hon. Wumi Ogunlola – Ekiti (Fresh Appointment), Hon. Ozo Obumreme Obodougo – Enugu (Fresh Appointment) and Mr Mohammed Kabeer Usman – Gombe (Fresh Appointment).

Others are Alhaji Kabir Mohammed Mashi – Katsina (Renewal), Hon. Adamu Fanda – Kano (Fresh Appointment), Prof. Olusegun Adekunle Wright – Lagos (Renewal), Aliyu Almakura Abdulkadir – Nasarawa (Renewal), Bako Shetima – Niger (Renewal) and Mr. Amosun Akeem Akintayo – Ogun (Fresh Appointment).

Others are: Dr. Nathaniel Adojutelegan – Ondo (Fresh Appointment), Hon. Saad Bello Ibrahim – Plateau (Fresh Appointment), Mr. Modu Aji Juluri – Yobe (Renewal) and Bello Rabiu Garba – Zamfara (Fresh Appointment)

The appointments, which took effect on 3rd February 2025, will last for an initial five-year term, as stipulated under relevant laws governing political and public office holders.

The statement noted that President Tinubu expects the newly appointed commissioners to work collaboratively with agency heads to advance the objectives of their respective organisations, which is in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The President’s directive emphasised the importance of robust support for effective resource allocation, population management, and equitable representation to drive national development.

According to Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, the President is confident that the new appointees will contribute to fulfilling strategic national priorities through dedicated service.
