Tinubu Approves Federal Varsity For Ogoniland In Rivers

President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the Bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State.

The announcement was made by Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, Daniel Bwala, on his X handle on Monday, highlighting the administration’s commitment to inclusive national progress.

According to Bwala, the establishment of the university was part of President Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, which seeks to correct historical disparities and promote balanced development through the creation of key educational institutions in underrepresented regions.

“You will all recall that recently, in similar fashion, Mr. President graciously approved the establishment of another federal university to be sited in the Southern Kaduna district of Kaduna State,” Bwala stated.

He added that the president’s actions demonstrated a firm belief in the unity of Nigeria and the importance of fostering development beyond ethnic or regional divides.

“To Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, there are no minority ethnicities in Nigeria,” Bwala noted, referencing the national anthem’s emphasis on unity, which states, “though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood, we stand.”
