Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo’s Community Marks 100 Years Of Peaceful, Harmonious Living

Okeagbe Akoko community in Akoko North-West local government area of Ondo State, on Saturday, rolled out the drums to celebrate 100 years of its peaceful and harmonious living following the Peace Pact of 1924.

The centenary anniversary was a colourful event with a touch of cultural dimension and attended by sons and daughters of the Akeagbe Akoko community.

One of the sons of the ‘Hill City’ and Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who attended the historic event, took to his Facebook page on Saturday evening, saying that the occasion was a wonderful moment to remember their rich history and cultural heritage as well as rejoice over their achievements and milestones as a community.

Tunji-Ojo wrote: “In the Hill City of Okeagbe Akoko, today, I joined illustrious sons and daughters of the community to celebrate our 100 years anniversary of living in peace and harmony as a community founded on greatness and love by our ancestors.

“It was, indeed, a wonderful moment to remember our rich history and cultural heritage as well as rejoice over our achievements and milestones as a community of progressive minds.

“I appreciate all our traditional leaders, elders, public office holders, distinguished business leaders, and youths who made the ceremony a success, and do earnestly pray that God preserve Okeagbe Akoko for more exploits and greatness in the future.”
