Nigerian singer Oluwafemi Oladapo, popularly known as Slimcase, has reacted to the backlash he received for bowing to greet Grammy Award winner Burna Boy.
The 42-year-old was lashed after a viral showy moment, he prostrated to greet the 33-year-old Burna Boy, during a recent meeting.
Critics had opined that the singer degraded himself for greeting the Afrobeats star in that manner, citing his nine-year seniority.
Reacting, Slimcase via his Instagram page on Thursday explained that his gesture comes from a place of respect for African giant’s achievements, particularly his Grammy win.
Slimcase stressed that if need be, he wont hesitate to extend the same courtesy to any artiste who has earned such accolades, including younger stars like Rema, who is just 24 years old.
Slimcase wrote, “This is the way I greet GRAMMYS . As young as Rema is, if he wins a Grammy, I will greet him this way. #slimcaseshow.”
