The kidnappers who abducted the wife of Hakeem Odumosu, a retired Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, have been neutralised and the ransom paid to them recovered.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports this was disclosed by Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a terse statement via X on Thursday.
ACP Adejobi confirmed that the kidnappers were neutralised by police operatives in Ogun State, and Mrs Folashade Odumosu was said to have been rescued alive.
“The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job.
“We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country,” he stated.
Recall that Mrs Odumosu, resident in Aminu Street, Orange Estate, Arepo in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, was kidnapped at about 9.55 p.m. last Thursday while entering her home.
It was gathered that four masked men attacked and dragged her out of her Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle, taking her through a swampy area to an unknown location.
