Visiting US Group To Invest In Abia

A delegation from the US Market Access Centre has expressed interest to invest in entrepreneurship development and skills acquisition in Abia State .

The chief executive officer of the centre, Chris Burry, stated this when he led the delegation on an advocacy visit to Governor Alex Otti at his Nvosi country home.

He said the centre wants to collaborate with the state government in various technological areas in the ongoing socioeconomic transformation in the state, and lauded Otti for the effort.

In a response, Otti said there is no better place currently in the country for entrepreneurship and investment than the state as the government had laid the foundation.

He said there is huge potential and human energy available in Aba and requested the delegation to visit the city to see things for themselves to make their findings evidence-based.

“I want it to be evidence based. So, go to Ariaria International Market and others and you will see things for yourself. We need to come from an evidence point of view”, he declared.

“The administration is in a hurry to develop the potentials in the state and thereby create wealth and lift the people out of poverty, hence, it always accepts credible prospective investors and partners.”

He directed the commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, David Kalu and members of the Governor’s Technology Team to work with the delegation to work out modalities for such investment.
