Kenneth Omeruo has backed newly appointed Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle to make a positive impact with the team.
Chelle was unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) this week.
The 47-year-old has been tasked with the responsibility of guiding the Super Eagles to 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification.

Despite the criticism that greeted the gaffer’s appointment, Omeruo has backed him to have a successfully reign.
“Judging from the way the Malian team played, not just in friendlies but also at AFCON 2023, you can see an organized structure,” the centre-back said during a live X Space session he co-hosted with Wilfred Ndidi and Asisat Oshoala.
“I think he has something to offer the team. With the level of talent in the Super Eagles, he won’t have any problem getting us to play the way he wants.”
The former Mali international’s first official game in charge of the Super Eagles will be the 2026 World Cup qualifier against the Amavubi of Rwanda in March.
