Diallo Equals Solskjaer, Rooney’s Feat After Hat-trick Heroics

Amad Diallo equalled the feat of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Wayne Rooney after he bagged a hat-trick in Manchester United’s dramatic 3-1 comeback win against Southampton.

United were on the verge of suffering a shock defeat against bottom side Southampton before Diallo’s heroics.

Following his feat, Diallo is now the third player in Premier League history to score three times in the final 10 minutes of a game after Solskjaer vs Nottingham Forest in February 1999 and Rooney vs Hull City in January 2010, with all three instances being United players.

An own goal by Manuel Ugarte put Southampton 1-0 ahead with two minutes left in the first half.

With eight minutes left Diallo equalised and put the Red Devils ahead on 90 minutes.

The Ivory Coast international then completed his hat-trick on 94 minutes to end the game 3-1.

The win took United up to 12th place on 26 points in the league table.
