Conte Eyes Man United Forward As Replacement For Kvaratskhelia

Napoli coach Antonio Conte would like to replace the outgoing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with Manchester United talent Alejandro Garnacho according to the latest reports from Italy.

The Napoli boss confirmed during his pre-match press conference on Saturday that Kvaratskhelia has submitted a transfer request and that he would not be involved in Sunday’s game against Hellas Verona as a result.

The Partenopei are understood to be in discussions with Paris Saint-Germain over a transfer for a price in the region of €70m-€80m.

Several names have already been linked with a move to the Stadio Maradona to replace the 2023 Serie A MVP winner, including Italy international Federico Chiesa and Edon Zhegrova of Lille, but the latest reports claim that Conte specifically wants Garnacho.

According to Alfredo Pedullà of SportItalia, (via Football Italia) a potential deal for Garnacho would likely cost Napoli somewhere in the region of €50m.

Recent reports in the UK claimed that Garnacho and his teammate Kobbie Mainoo are not considered ‘unsellable’, and that the club would consider letting either of their academy graduates leave if it helps the club comply with profit and sustainability rules.
