Julia Olubusola Akintoye, the wife of the leader of Yoruba self-determination movement, Professor Banji Akintoye has reportedly died.
TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the Akintoye family in a statement on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, revealed that Mrs. Akintoye “peacefully departed this life in the early hours” at the age of 88.
The family also expressed gratitude for her remarkable life, describing her as a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister.
“It is with profound sorrow but even greater gratitude to God for a life extremely well spent that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Mrs. Julia Olubusola Akintoye,” the family said.
Details of her funeral arrangements will be shared at a later date. The family has also requested privacy as they navigate this difficult time.
