Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) has sought the support of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to fight the prevalence of drug abuse in the state.
The director-general of the agency, Pharm. Gali Sule, sought for the support when the management staff visited the command’s office in Kano.
While lamenting the growing rate of drug abuse in the state, Pharm Sule said DMCSA is set to embark on a sensitization campaign against the menace, starting with the screening of its entire staff.
According to him, “Drug abuse is a serious problem in the society. It is a social vice that worries any right-thinking person which negatively affects the pushers, their families, and the society in general.
“We wish to seek for your guidance and support in that direction, not forgetting that the success of the DMCSA in this important campaign is, undoubtedly, the success for the NDLEA,” he stated.
In his response, NDLEA state commandant Abubakar Idris, who was represented by deputy commandant of operations and training, Yaya Aminu, said the command is ready to partner with the drug agency in order to checkmate what he described as a destructive menace.
He further commended the director-general for his foresight, assuring him of total support.
