President Bola Tinubu has responded to those describing his cabinet as ‘bloated’, saying there is no plan to reduce the size of his 48-man cabinet.
Henzodaily reports that the opposition parties have frequently criticized Tinubu as having the largest number of cabinet members in Nigeria’s history.
Speaking at the media chat on Monday, Tinubu said all his ministers were appointed for a purpose, bearing in mind efficiency and effectiveness.
He said, “I am not ready to shrink the size of my cabinet. I am not prepared to bring down the size of my cabinet.”
President Tinubu further challenged his interviewers to name any of the ministers that was not performing up to the task.
Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Abia North senatorial district at the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has characterized President Bola Tinubu as a receptive leader.
Kalu encouraged Nigerians to unite in support of Tinubu’s administration.
Henzodaily reports that Kalu made this statement following his visit to Tinubu at his residence in Lagos State over the weekend.
The lawmaker noted that Tinubu has promised that new changes will soon be evident in the areas he highlighted during their meeting.
