Just In: Speed Darlington granted bail after one month behind bars

Popular Nigerian rapper, Speed Darlington has been granted bail after spending nearly a month in police custody.

TheNewsGuru.com(TNG) reports that the legal counsel for popular controversial rapper Stan Alieke, announced the development in an Instagram Story on Monday, saying, “Apki has been granted bail by the court,” without providing further details.

Recall, Alieke, had disclosed that the singer was re-arrested in Owerri, Imo state for jumping bail.

In October, Darlington was detained after his colleague Burna Boy filed a petition against him, for questioning the authenticity of Burna Boy’s Grammy award, linking the A-list artiste to embattled music mogul Sean Combs, known as P Diddy or Puff Daddy.

Alieke said the singer was given a date to report back but was unable to do so due to a medical emergency that required him to travel abroad for treatment.

The lawyer stressed that Darlington had no intention to jump bail, as he had arranged to return to Abuja after his performance at Owerri.
