Mohamed Salah says Liverpool must improve in defence despite their 6-3 win against Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
Salah put in a five star display, bagging a brace and also provided two assists against Spurs, as the Reds extended their lead at the top of the log courtesy the win against Spurs.
But one area Salah believe need to be addressed if they plan to maintain their title push is in the defensive third.
“We were pretty good in attack, but defensively, I think we need to improve as a team, not just individually,” Salah said in his post-match analysis (via tribuna.com.
“We conceded three goals, and that’s tough. Virgil van Dijk, Alisson, and I discussed this. It’s a good result, and hopefully, we’ll keep it going.
“I think we anticipated how they would play, how they would open up and enjoy their football. As you can see, the game was physically and mentally challenging; you need to stay focused all the time. I’m happy we managed to win the game.”
Salah became the first player to hit double figures both for goals and assists before Christmas.
Reacting to the feat, the Egyptian international said:”Honestly, I didn’t think about the record before the game, but I’m glad I achieved it. It makes me happy. I’m proud of it and will continue to work hard.”
