The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has said President Bola Tinubu is a listening leader.
Senator Uzodimma said the 2025 budget covered burning issues Nigerians are concerned about, like insecurity.
He stated this in a brief statement on Thursday. He commended President Tinubu for prioritizing security through the defense appropriation.
Henzodaily reported that in the budget titled “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace, Rebuilding Prosperity, to the National Assembly”, ₦4.9 trillion was allocated to defence.
He also commended the amount allocated to infrastructure development, noting that it would help in solidifying economic expansion.
“This budget reflects a leader who listens attentively to the concerns of the people with security, a cornerstone of societal stability, been prioritized. This is not surprising, as a secured society fosters commercial activities, driving economic growth and prosperity.
“It is particularly heartening to note that as a progressive administration, the President has not wavered in his commitment to infrastructural development. Such investments will undoubtedly lay a solid foundation for sustainable economic expansion,” he said.
The Imo State Governor praised the President for upholding the constitutional obligation of presenting the budget estimate to the National Assembly.
He further called on members of the National Assembly to prioritize the budget and expedite its passage.
“It is my sincere expectation that the legislature will prioritize and expedite its passage, ensuring the prompt implementation of this transformative fiscal plan,” Governor Uzodimma added.
