The former Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Enema Paul, has passed away.
Henzodaily gathered that the lawmaker died in the early hours of Saturday at a private hospital in Abuja after battling an undisclosed illness.
Until his death, Hon. Paul was the representative for Okura State Constituency in Kogi State’s 8th Assembly.
He had earlier stepped down from his role as Deputy Speaker due to health issues and was succeeded by Hon. Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola, who represents the Ibaji State Constituency.
In response to the sad news, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, expressed his condolences to the family of the late lawmaker.
The Speaker’s message was conveyed through a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed.
Describing the late Hon. Enema Paul as a humble, temperate, and dedicated legislator, Rt. Hon. Yusuf praised his commitment to teamwork and the unity of Kogi State.
He acknowledged Paul’s efforts in driving people-centered legislation aimed at fostering development and growth.
The Speaker also highlighted the late lawmaker’s devotion to Christianity and his exemplary family values, noting that Paul transcended religious boundaries in his approach to service and leadership.
He concluded by praying for strength and comfort for Hon. Enema Paul’s family, as well as for members of the current and previous assemblies, as they mourn the loss of a dedicated public servant.
