2024 pushed me to my limits – Mabel Makun says as she loses mother

The ex- wife of popular Nigerian comedian AY Makun, Mabel Makun has described 2024 as a tough year which pushed her to the limit.

Mabel disclosed this while paying a heartfelt tribute to her late mother via Instagram on Tuesday night. She also expressed appreciation to all those who supported her during the trying times.

Although she did not disclose the exact date of her mother’s passing, she described her “as one of the strongest women I knew”.

She also shared a video of herself weeping at her mother’s funeral.

She wrote: “2024 was a year filled with roadblocks, challenges, and trials that pushed me to my limits. It was a difficult phase that tested me physically, mentally, and emotionally.

“Who can dare to challenge the one that gives and takes life? No one. I was ready to give up all that I had to keep you alive but it was obvious that the doctors had reached their limits.

“Tears rolled down my cheeks when I could no longer hear the voice of the most treasurable gift in my life,my prayer warrior, you fought a good fight and for as long as I live, you will remain the strongest woman I know. My heart is broken and countless thoughts racing through my mind but my courage is not shattered.

“It was a tough year, but thank God that I don’t look like what I’ve been through. My scars remain hidden, as I stand clothed in God’s grace. To everyone who stood by me during my darkest moments, I pray God continues to bless you and fulfill all your heart’s desires.

“As I step into 2025, my focus is clear: eyes on the prize, no distractions. I’m ready to embrace growth, positivity, and every good thing life has to offer.

“My dearest Rose though you are no longer here but I feel your presence with me. I’m assured you won’t abandon me as I navigate this world. Ready for the prayers you offered before your passing to manifest in my life. Till we meet again, may your soul continue to rest in peace.”
